SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR DIASPORA CHILDREN

The Ministry of External Affairs is executing Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) Scheme for pursuing undergraduate courses where 150 scholarships are given to the children of Persons of Indian origin / Non-Resident Indians; children of Indian workers working in ECR countries; and children of Indian workers working in ECR countries but the children are studying in India.  The objective of the scheme is to reach out to the candidates who are in need of financial assistance.  Monthly gross income of the parents of the candidates shall not be more than US $4,500/-. 

The following institutions are covered under the scheme:

  1. NITs, IITs, Schools of Planning and Architecture
  2. ‘A’ Grade institutions accredited by NAAC and recognized by UGC
  3. Central Universities in India
  4. Other institutions covered under DASA scheme

Partial financial assistance to the extent of 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) subject to a maximum of US$4,500/- per annum is borne by Government of India under this scheme.
