H.E. Mr. Sanjay Rana
Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco
Mr. Sanjay Rana is Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco since 27 December 2024. He is a career diplomat and a member of the Indian Foreign Service since 1996.
During 2019-2020, he served as the Head of Division for United Nations Political dealing with issues related to the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council and other international organizations such as Non-Aligned Movement and the Commonwealth. He also headed the Development Partnership Administration Division supervising the development and infrastructure projects financed by India’s grant assistance in immediate and extended neighbourhood.
Mr. Rana was earlier Ambassador of India to the Republic of Bulgaria from March 2021 to December 2024 and Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan from October 2015 to December 2018. He has previously served at Indian Missions in Damascus, Riyadh, Copenhagen and Male.
Mr. Rana speaks Hindi, English and Arabic. He has a deep interest in yoga. He is married to Mrs. Barbara Jaworska, and they have two sons.
